Some of the things that you will be doing:
- Develop and implement risk management strategies, policies, and frameworks in line with the institution’s risk appetite and regulatory standards.
- Maintain a business risk register and support management in its effective use.
- Monitor and assess various risks, including operational, reputational, and those specific to C2D’s business model.
- Lead the integration of the operational risk management framework into the overall risk management structure.
- Ensure risk management policies and controls are communicated and implemented across the organization through training programs.
- Collaborate with business units to identify and manage risk exposures from new products, services, or initiatives.
- Provide guidance on risk mitigation strategies and best practices.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks.
- Chair risk workshops with senior management to foster a proactive risk culture.
- Prepare focused risk management reports for executive committees and the board, highlighting trends, deficiencies, and recommendations.
- Lead the development and maintenance of the Internal Control Framework, including key performance and risk indicators (KPIs/KRIs).
- Offer advisory services on new systems, procedures, and services, providing technical control or project governance advice before implementation.
You will be a great fit if you have the following:
- Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or a related field of study as well as professional qualifications and certificates in risk management and operational risk management would be highly beneficial
- Minimum of three years’ experience of working in the area of risk management in a regulated entity in the banking, financial institutions or insurance industry or as a consultant providing advice in risk management to such regulated entities.
- Proficiency in working with industry-standard risk management tools and software, enabling efficient risk identification, analysis, and mitigation.
- Sound knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks and industry guidelines.
- Strong analytical abilities and the aptitude to identify, assess, and manage risks effectively. Proven experience in developing risk mitigation strategies and implementing risk controls.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective stakeholder management at all levels. The ability to convey complex risk concepts in a clear and concise manner is crucial.
- Fluency in English is required for this role. German language skills would be desirable but not mandatory.
