THE ROLE
If you are a data geek, music nerd and technophile then this opportunity is great for you! You will use your knowledge of the music business; from creation to copyright to cash and anything in between. You will use your strong attention to detail, your use of technology and your relationship skills. Both your knowledge of music and your affinity for problem solving are needed to fulfill this role.
This assignment will last at least three months, with a possible extension. You may be asked to work up to 37.5 hours a week with occasional extra hours, including overtime. However, this time will be flexible. You will be offered continuing education through a variety of free webinars, hands on training and free access to programs through Coursera on-line learning.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Music business knowledge with an emphasis on copyright and licensing fundamentals
- Proven experience working independently with a high level of dependability
- Experience handling a high volume of data with sharp attention to detail
- Proficiency in using Excel and/or data platforms
- Experience with CRM systems is preferred
- Experience with computer focused work for long periods of time preferred
- Must have access to a computer and high-speed internet service
FOCUS AREAS
- Research copyright information
- Reviewing publishing agreements and documentation
- Gathering data and information from internal or external partners about conflicts or disputes and entering into an account database;
- Preparing notices of dispute that are correct and of high quality;
- Track activity with notices and routinely conduct clean-up tasks to maintain accurate information;
- Escalate complicated conflicts for further review and align on next steps for resolution.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to develop and improve resolution effectiveness and research strategies.
- Meet productivity standards for throughput.
- Quickly align your work with new procedures.
