Reporting to the President, the new RF Systems Engineer will develop and implement processes that contribute to the successful release of new products. This role will be associated with a government contract that will require Australian citizenship and a Defence security clearance this role combines a systems engineering approach and a rigorous execution of the product life cycle.
The duties and responsibilities outlined below include essential functions of the role. Depending on business needs, this role may perform a combination of some or all of the following duties. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, additional/new activities may be assigned on an at needs basis.
- Develop standard practices for product and systems engineering
- Refine and update the Product Lifecycle (PLC) policy and workflows to optimise efficiency and value of the process
- Contribute to developing templates for deliverables of the PLC
- Support selection and deployment of systems engineering modeling tools
- Contribute to developing systems engineering standards
- Implement these best practices within product development projects
- Ensure uniform application of tools and methods across projects by providing training and support
- For selected key product development projects:
- Define scope of PLC and associated list of deliverables
- Support and track execution of tasks and deliverables through the phases of the PLC
- Prepare and support gate reviews with project team
- Provide systems engineering expertise for selected key product development projects
- Create core systems engineering documents (requirements, interface control, architecture, test plans, etc.)
- Coordinate system modeling and simulation
- Work with multi-functional teams to maintain system configuration and documentation
Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree is required, with a focus in engineering, science, physics, or technology field preferred
- 5+ years of relevant and progressive experience in a similar role, with demonstrated systems engineering experience
- Experienced in RF Systems (ie demonstrated knowledge of link analysis, antennas, receivers, applications and testing requirements)
- Experience with productization and Product Life Cycle processes
- Demonstrated ability to sufficiently learn the technical details of complex hardware system development to be able to successfully drive processes and procedures for integration, testing, and qualification
- Demonstrated ability to work and communicate with all levels of an organisation; Professional-level communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to work comfortably in a highly collaborative, cross-functional, team-oriented, and matrixed environment, able to effectively share information with technical and non-technical staff
- Strong work ethic and drive; Appetite for working at the frontiers of quantum technology
- Adaptability in a fast-pace setting
- Orientation towards execution
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in engineering, science, physics, or technology field
- Experience in advanced technologies and high technology products, especially products that include a combination of mechanical, electrical, RF, optics, and software
- Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools. Experience using/implementing Arena PLM software a plus.
- Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
