About you and the role
Reporting to the Head of Finance based in CA/US, this newly created Revenue Accountant role, is a very hands-on position, supporting the business globally. We are looking for a detail-oriented, process-driven, multitasker who enjoys a challenge and is eager to learn new things. You are poised to review, analyse and make well thought out suggestions to mature and set the future direction for all accounting related practices, processes, and tools. This is a great opportunity for you to own your work, and focus on ensuring quality assurance before shipping outputs. You are able to help with our goal to create streamlined, accurate, timely financials for our investors and business leaders.

What you'll be doing:

  • Record and report revenue transactions in compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
  • Review complex global sales and grant contracts. Identify and analyze revenue-related issues and recommend solutions.
  • Prepare and maintain revenue and COS schedules, reports and KPIs by product line.
  • Prepare customer invoices according to delivery schedules.
  • Liaison with project managers, sales and other stakeholders regarding projects.
  • Assist with audits, compliance and taxes in relation to revenue.

Ideally you'll have:

  • 5+ years in a position equivalent to a business analysis/revenue accountant or higher responsibilities.
  • Good working knowledge of IFRS, knowledge of GAAP helpful.
  • Experience with Xero, Stripe, SalesForce, Google Workspace - Proficiency in Google SheetsStrong analytical skills and exceptional problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility to meet changing priorities and the ability to prioritize workload to achieve on time accurate results as well as being detail-oriented, self-directed and able to effectively complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Confidence and adaptability in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving startup environment.
