We’re a team of scientists, developers, marketers and more, changing the way the world eats. With our personalised nutrition programme, we’re on a mission to improve the health of millions, and with plans as vast as the plants on our plate, we need the best team. Or ZOEntists, as we like to call ourselves.
We’re backed by leading venture capital firm Accomplice (backers of Angellist and Zoopla), world-renowned entrepreneurs, like Steven Bartlett (also a proud brand ambassador), and we’ve raised over £70m in funding as of July 2023.

About the role:
We’re looking for a data-driven, creative, and motivated Retention Marketing Manager to help millions of people discover ZOE and become lifelong members.
The Retention Marketing team encompasses our lifecycle marketing channels – Email, Push, and SMS (and eventually even more) – across the entire member journey. Our mission is to build lifelong ZOE loyalists through a rigorous understanding of what our members need and how they behave, meeting those needs via a continuous innovation and testing agenda. We partner with a multitude of cross-functional partners (e.g., data science, product, engineering, brand strategy, creative) to inspire, engage, and delight our members with a world-class experience.
What you’ll do…
- Independently own a critical set of marketing channels that help shape the overall ZOE journey for our members. Own and drive the retention roadmap - identifying, sizing, and continuously testing on the millions of emails we send every week and pursuing new opportunities for growth
- Leverage your analytical skills to deeply understand our existing member audience segments, root cause trends and develop strategic, data driven solutions to complex business problems.
- Create welcome, nurture, retention and winback programs for ZOE members. Own the newsletter strategy, partnering with the Product, Brand Marketing and Coaching teams.
- Run complex A/B tests and experiments to increase campaign performance, user engagement, and customer lifetime value
- Partner with the Product team to develop tests and experiments to improve the website experience and increase conversion rates for membership sign ups from visitors.
This is for you if…
- You love combining left-brain and right-brain thinking to understand what drives user behaviour and how to influence it with marketing nudges.
- You can zero in on high impact opportunities and make progress fast. Confidence in prioritisation and ability to quickly launch and iterate are key.
- You’re highly analytical, love finding patterns in data, and making data-driven decisions.
- You run a tight ship and have a sharp eye for detail - user journeys across segments get complicated fast, and emails can’t be unsent, so you have it all organised and ensure to get every important element right.
- Team player - people love collaborating with you.
- Keen interest in nutrition and health, passionate about helping people transform their relationship with food.
Requirements:
- 3-4 years’ experience in digital marketing, data science, management consulting, finance, or product roles. Experience working with Email, Chat, App and SMS campaigns at scale is a plus but not required.
- Proven record of high performance/achievement and driving impact; able to pivot quickly and deliver against daring targets & goals in a fast and rapidly evolving environment.
- Highly analytical self-starter with an ownership mindset, relentless drive to execute and take calculated risks to drive growth.
