Retail Operations Analyst I

Job Summary
The Retail Operations Analyst I is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and optimizing stock management processes for retail stores. This role monitors replenishment, shipment tracking, cycle counts, and inventory audits to ensure smooth retail operations. Additionally, the analyst supports inventory planning, markdown execution, and product data accuracy. By tracking key inventory metrics and collaborating with cross-functional teams, this role helps improve efficiency and minimize stock issues.

 

Essential Functions

  • Maintains the replenishment file to ensure accurate stock levels and timely restocking.
  • Works closely with the merchandising team to ensure alignment on inventory needs.
  • Manages and tracks Advanced Shipping Notices (ASNs) to ensure timely and accurate deliveries to retail locations.
  • Collaborates with the logistics team to troubleshoot and resolve any discrepancies with shipments.
  • Owns and manages the cycle count calendar to ensure accurate bi-monthly counts are conducted on schedule.
  • Works with store teams to ensure accurate adjustments and resolutions for inventory discrepancies.
  • Leads the preparation efforts for the annual physical inventory, including coordinating logistics and ensuring the store is fully ready for the count.
  • Assists with the execution of inventory counts to ensure accuracy and minimal disruption to store operations.
  • Manages and updates product data through Salsify tags to ensure that product information is accurate and up to date across all platforms.
  • Collaborates with the marketing and merchandising teams to ensure accurate product descriptions and attributes.
  • Creates markdown plans in alignment with Key Operating Leaders (KOL) and the merchandising team.
  • Ensures markdowns are communicated and executed effectively across retail locations.
  • Tracks and reports on out-of-stock items, proactively working to resolve issues by collaborating with the inventory and merchandising teams.
  • Ensure timely replenishment and accurate inventory tracking to minimize out-of-stock occurrences.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field such as Business Administration, Management, Finance preferred.
  • One (1) to Two (2) years experience in retail operations or inventory management, preferably within a retail or consumer goods environment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems or tools (experience with Salsify or similar platforms is a plus).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet software.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including merchandising, logistics, and marketing.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to analyze data and provide actionable insights to improve operational processes.
  • Basic understanding of retail operations, inventory control, and replenishment best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving issues.

Travel Required: Less than 5%. 

Base Salary: $49,000 - $54,000 yearly
This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. The actual base salary will depend on numerous factors such as: experience, knowledge and skills, and location.
