W Costa Navarino, exclusively for adults and young adults over 12 years old, offers 226 stylish rooms, 2 bedroom suites and 3 bedroom villas with infinity private pools, staged in the Bay of Navarino with stunning Ionian Sea views, The Watersports Center, The Away Spa and gym with a heated 25m-long lap pool, including the new Navarino Agora, an open marketplace with retail, street food, open-air cinema and exciting programming throughout the day and night.

Navarino Dunes is looking for Restaurant Sommelier. The selected candidate will be a trained and knowledgeable wine professional, typically working at an upscale dining restaurant.  Sommeliers are responsible for every aspect of the wine service, starting with the creation of the restaurant wine list and ending with floor service provided to restaurant guests.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ordering, receiving, organizing, and selling wine labels in the F&B outlet. Also, for promoting and maximizing wine sales. Advising and recommending to guests according to their personal needs.
  • Oversee restaurant wine purchases and cost management with the assistance of the Head Sommelier.
  • Ensure proper mis-en-place for wine service, as well as correct handling, use, storage, and cleaning of all wine service equipment.
  • Maintain an accurate wine list and propose new wines or promotions to Head Sommelier.
  • Follow company’s wine service standards. Ensure that all wines are served and presented to guests in the proper procedure, while making wine and food recommendations.
  • Communicate any issues, challenges and complaints to Restaurant Manager and Head Sommelier, in a timely manner.
  • Ensure company policies, in regard to drinking age limits are followed as well as control alcohol consumption levels by guests.
  • Follow company guidelines regarding uniforms and personal hygiene.
  • Follow all H&S rules, hotel policies, SOPs, and Brand Standards at all times. Guide and encourage team to do the same.
  • Attend all trainings and seminars provided by the company and continuously remain updated for all trends and market news.

Requirements

Three years of experience in a similar role at five-star hotels or resorts.

High school diploma, associate degree, or WSET Level 3/CMS Level qualification.

Proficient in English, both spoken and written.

Deep passion for wine and wine service.

Skilled in operating hotel management systems, including Opera, Micros, and MC, as well as similar software.

Strong customer service, sales, and upselling abilities.

Solid understanding of pricing strategies, budgeting, and cost control.

Focused on revenue generation and maximizing profitability.
