StatCare is one of the largest privately held Hospitalist and Pulmonary Services groups in the nation serving Knoxville area hospitals and outpatient clinics. We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Respiratory Therapist to join our Pulmonary Outpatient team in Knoxville, Tennessee.

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Responsible for assisting the physician(s) with the respiratory assessment and treatment of patient needs in the office / clinical setting.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: (List does not include all duties assigned)

Perform necessary procedures with non-invasive methods such as CPAP and BIPAP therapies

Perform Pulmonary Function Tests (PFT)

Educate and counsel staff members on basic respiratory therapy procedures

Assist with therapy programs for patients based on the specific instructions of Physicians

Engage in diagnostic evaluation, treatment and control of deficiencies and abnormal functions found in the patient’s cardiopulmonary system

Collaborate with nursing staff to administer blood gas samples and perform basic analysis

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENT:

Knowledge and ability to perform sound basic clinical procedures, such as Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs), phlebotomy, injections, EKGs, various tests, etc., as needed.

Ability to adjust pace of work flow effectively.

Skilled in verbal communication.

Ability to apply policies and principles to solve everyday problems and deal with a variety of situations.

Ability to work effectively with physicians, patients, staff and the public.

EDUCATION: Associate Degree or higher in Respiratory Therapy.

EXPERIENCE: At least six months experience in a similar clinical setting preferred.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: Current Respiratory Therapist certification required.
