About the Role:
Redhorse Corporation supports the U.S. Army in achieving its energy goals. As a Resource Efficiency Manager (REM II) at Fort Gregg Adams, you will play a critical role in enhancing energy efficiency and resilience. You will directly contribute to the Army's sustainability initiatives, reducing operational costs, and improving the environmental impact of the installation. This is a high-impact role where you will directly influence Fort Gregg Adams' energy future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze utility data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.
  • Conduct energy audits of buildings and facilities to pinpoint energy waste and recommend cost-effective solutions.
  • Assist in updating the Installation Energy & Water Plans (IEWP), annual energy reports, and other required documentation.
  • Identify, develop, and implement energy-saving projects, leveraging various funding mechanisms such as the Energy Resilience and Conservation Investment Program (ERCIP), Utility Energy Service Contracts (UESC), Energy Savings Performance Contracts (ESPC), and other sources.
  • Provide guidance on measurement and verification protocols to ensure the effectiveness of implemented projects.
  • Stay informed on relevant Executive Orders, energy policies, and best practices.
  • Support awareness and behavioral change efforts to optimize resource utilization (natural gas, electricity, coal, water, and wastewater).

Required Experience/Education:

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering and/or an active Professional Engineering License with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in energy management; OR
  • An Environmental Science, Business, or related degree with a minimum of 8 years’ experience in energy management; OR
  • A two-year technical degree with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in energy management; OR
  • No degree with a minimum of 12 years’ experience in energy management.

Required Experience:

  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification.
  • Proven performance in military engineering and/or energy management.
  • Experience with energy auditing, project development, life-cycle cost analysis, and building/facility operations.
  • Understanding of project programming, funding, and implementation at Department of Defense installations.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Adobe Acrobat, and Outlook.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven organizational and project management skills.
  • Critical thinking and decision-making skills coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Adaptability to a fast-paced and sometimes unstructured environment.
  • Ability to analyze data, make decisions, and solve problems daily.
  • Valid State-issued driver’s license and auto insurance coverage of at least $100k liability.

Desired Experience:

  • We encourage all candidates who meet the basic requirements to apply, even if you do not have all of the following experience:
  • Documented ability to achieve substantial energy and maintenance savings in facility management.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop an energy and maintenance baseline.
  • Professional Engineering (PE), LEED Accredited Professional (AP), or Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) certifications.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment:

  • Ability to walk through areas with industrial equipment and processes.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds periodically, bend, stand, climb, and walk.
  • Ability to work safely in a moderately noisy environment.

Travel:

  • The REM will be located at Ft Gregg Adam. Travel will include an annual REM workshop in Huntsville, AL and attendance at one energy conference per year.
