Research Panel Manager

The Reader Panel Manager will be responsible for managing The Telegraph Contributors Panel, a dynamic network of engaged subscribers, registrants, and prospects that supports market research initiatives across the business.

Acting as both an internal and external advocate for the Contributors Panel, the Manager will focus on maintaining strong community engagement, growing panel membership, and ensuring the panel consistently delivers valuable insights to stakeholders and research teams within Telegraph Media Group.

This is an influential and fast-paced role, ideal for someone with a proven ability to manage complex projects, coordinate with agencies, and navigate high-demand research environments. A strong understanding of diverse market research methodologies is essential.

The successful candidate will be passionate about data and storytelling, both written and verbal, and enthusiastic about market research, audience insights, product development, and journalism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, develop, and implement the strategy for the Telegraph Contributors Panel to grow membership, output, and capabilities.
  • Oversee the panel’s third-party agency to ensure they are delivering innovative services that benefit departments across Telegraph Media Group.
  • Set and achieve panel recruitment targets by leveraging platforms available both within Telegraph Media Group and externally.
  • Act as the voice of the customer, ensuring direct feedback is regularly shared with key stakeholders through panel insights.
  • Support internal research teams with new panel features, training, and project assistance.
  • Manage panel health by delivering a calendar of relevant activities to keep panellists engaged.
  • Champion the panel through regular inductions, reports, and updates to internal departments.
  • Stay informed on market research trends and innovations to ensure the panel’s capabilities remain market-leading.

Requirements

  • Project management. A high level of organisational and communication skills is key.
  • Experience with quantitative and qualitative research methods.
  • Experience in managing a research agency.
  • A strong end-to-end data storyteller.
  • A solid background, with 3+ years' experience in research roles, ideally within a media or publishing organisation.
  • Confident in presenting to stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical reasoning, interpreting and evaluating complex information while identifying patterns and commercial value points.
  • Excellent attention to detail in reporting and presentations, with the ability to succinctly communicate findings.
  • Understanding of data compliance and regulatory requirements.
