Prior to founding Aquatic, Jon was a Partner and Senior Managing Director at Citadel, where he worked for more than 13 years. At Citadel, Jon held numerous senior positions over the years, including head of Statistical Arbitrage and Equity High Frequency, culminating in leading the highly successful Global Quantitative Strategies business.

Research Engineer

Chicago

Responsibilities:  Develop software for researchers using Python and C++; investigate novel research ideas and evaluate them with large-scale experiments; develop scientific libraries to share findings and processes; build tools and engines that bring platforms and models to live trading; originate, test and develop research projects and processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or related field
  • 1 year of related experience
  • Any amount of experience developing low-latency distributed software systems for computing real-time financial data
  • Any amount of experience developing software and tooling for training and evaluating machine learning models
  • Any amount of experience optimizing CPU usage and memory footprint of software using profiling techniques
  • Any amount of experience developing user facing software tools to analyze and manipulate datasets and data streams

Must live within normal commuting distance of worksite.  Must be in office 4 days per week.  May work remotely on Fridays.
