Where You'll Come In

The Research and Development Technician will play a key role in the day to day operations of our first-ever pilot plant, which will produce small samples of our product’s current and future production methods as well as internal review and testing to ensure the best quality for our customers. . We’re looking for someone to own the daily operations including setting up kitchen equipment, overseeing ingredient ordering and management all the way through sample shipments. The Research and Development Technician will work cross functionally with other areas of the organization to ensure projects flow smoothly from concept to commercialization as the business continues to scale.

How You'll Make An Impact

  • Lead the daily kitchen operations including setup, maintenance and sanitation.
  • Oversee ingredient management by ensuring core ingredients are kept in good condition, replenished and organized.
  • Partner with developers and managers on preparing recipes from initial  set up through executing test runs on manufacturing equipment.
  • Sample receiving and outbound shipments.
  • Coordinate sample cuttings and reviews with departments  in the NYC office.
  • Create and streamline an organized sample library for both Research & Development and Food Safety Quality and Regulatory groups to be able to easily access and reference.
  • Documentation of testing and trials to ensure the effective communication of results.
  • Assist cross functionally as needed onsite in the facility, including learning the basics of operating analytical equipment in our quality lab.

  • You have strong foundational knowledge with food manufacturing and preparation.
  • You are familiar with food safety and quality as related to kitchen operations.
  • You are naturally curious, have the ability to to understand new operations and technologies in the food manufacturing industry and replicate learnings
  • You're a skilled communicator and have the ability to absorb and distill complexity into simple terms to drive decision making.
  • You are based in Omaha and able to be onsite 5 days a week .
  • You are able to navigate ambiguity and able to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • You are able to regularly lift 50 - 75lb.
  • You love dogs.

Office Guidelines

The office is open and available for all Monday through Friday. We ask all team members to be in office a minimum of 2 - 3 days a week to build a collaborative and invested environment to foster our unique in-person culture we are proud to have. We commit to building a competitive compensation package and company environment for all individuals to thrive. We believe in competitive base compensation rooted in location specific market data and performance along with equity ownership in the company that allows every team member to build their personal wealth as the company grows, just as much as we believe in fostering a culture that supports our team members personally, professionally, and holistically. For this role the anticipated hiring compensation is $25.00 USD Hourly and the compensation offered will include a robust market competitive package of base and equity. In addition to your base compensation offer you will also receive equity ownership in the company. More information about the value of this equity will be shared at the time of offer. This range is representative of NYC Market Data if you are applying to this role outside of the NYC area the range may change.
