Research Associate (Temporary)

The role of the Temporary Research Associate will be to identify, qualify, and research individuals, corporations and foundations in support of the fundraising efforts of the Metropolitan Opera. This is a part-time temporary position with an expected duration of 20 weeks, working approximately 10-20 hours each week.  

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide reactive research for cultivation and ticketed events
  • Write clear, concise, confidential profiles and briefings
  • Conduct research and analysis to determine the capacity, affinity, propensity, and interests of individuals, corporations and foundations
  • Work on special projects as assigned
  • Additional responsibilities may include:
  • Proactively identify and qualify new prospective Patrons
  • Identify current Patrons with the inclination and capacity to upgrade their membership level
  • Update and maintain researched data in the Tessitura database

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Research experience
  • Familiarity with research resources and databases, such as LexisNexis, iWave, Wealth-X, Candid, RelSci, among others
