Research Associate – Microfluidics

Ampersand Biomedicines‘ Pilsen Team, formerly Abcheck and now a Flagship Pioneering Company, discovers and optimizes human therapeutic antibodies with one of the industry’s most versatile technology platforms. Tailored to specific needs and desired Target Product Profiles, the experienced team leverages both cutting-edge (e.g., microfluidics, rabbit mass humanization) and state-of-the-art (e.g., phage display libraries) technologies to provide high quality leads against a range of diverse targets.

Position Overview:

To strengthen our Antibody Discovery Team we are looking to fill in-person lab-based position of Research Associate – Microfluidics 

Key responsibilities include:

• Execution of experiments related to droplet microfluidics systems
• Preparation of experimental material
• Production and quality control of polymer chips for droplet preparation and sorting
• Operation of droplet generation and droplet sorting instruments
• Processing of primary cells and various cell lines
• Cooperation with supervising scientist and other team members
• Communication of results
• Implementation and documentation of dedicated experiments according to detailed protocols and standard operating procedures as well as contribution to general maintenance of laboratories and equipment

The ideal candidate has the following qualifications and capabilities:

• Qualification as biological/medical assistant or Ba or MSc in biology, engineering or related field
• Hands-on experience with laboratory work (e.g., pipetting, solution preparation, mammalian cell culture maintenance) and documentation of experimental results
• Previous experience with microfluidic systems is an advantage
• Pro-active attitude to learn and apply new methods and techniques
• Sense of responsibility regarding experimental work, the team and the mission of Ampersand
• Adaptivity to language requirements. Our team is international, written documents like experimental protocols and records are in English language

Compensation and grade will be adjusted to the experience level of the applicant.
