What You Will Contribute To Altos

The In Vivo Research Hub serves as a central resource team to support the development and implementation of in vivo models and studies. The In Vivo Hub Research Associate will broadly support core operations and report to the In Vivo Research Hub Manager. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, self-driven individual, and have broad technical proficiencies for in vivo technical support.  Core to the role’s responsibility will be maintaining breeding colonies and executing in vivo studies for rodent models.

  • Apply technical and operational skills to execute animal and laboratory-based activities in support of research animal research programs.
  • Maintain a genetically engineered mouse breeding program including breeding pair establishment, checking plugs, determining pregnancy, weaning, identification, and sample collection for genotyping.
  • Maintain accurate records including breeding and colony records; electronic notebook entries for in vivo studies, competent in colony software systems (i.e. SoftMouse, Benchling, Transnetyx, etc.).
  • Highly proficient with in vivo methodology (e.g., dosing, sample collection, physiological monitoring, necropsy).
  • Triage clinical cases, provide treatment and care.
  • Assist with hands-on training and onboarding activities supporting multiple users.
  • Adhere to all applicable IACUC protocols, SOP’s, business practices and company policies.
  • Ability to work in a fast-growing environment independently and effectively with minimal supervision under the timelines provided by management.

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS Degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse group of scientists for various projects as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Must demonstrate a strong commitment to animal welfare and compliance. Knowledge of regulatory and compliance functions (IACUC, AAALAC, The Guide, etc.).
  • AALAS certification at the LATG level and/or RVT.

The salary range for San Diego, CA:

  • Research Associate I: $80,750 - $109,250
  • Research Associate II: $96,900 - $131,100
  • Senior Research Associate: $108,800 - $147,200
