Research Assistant (Industrial Placement) - London

London, United Kingdom
Full-Time

Capital Economics is one of the world’s leading independent economic research companies. We provide country and regional research on most of the major developed and emerging economies. We also provide overview services covering the global economy and financial markets, and have dedicated services providing research on commodities, the property sector, and climate change.

We have gained an enviable reputation for original and insightful research, building up a wide and distinguished client base. We produce publications for worldwide distribution and offer support to clients in their respective time-zones through our offices in London, New York, Toronto, and Singapore.

Overall, more than 1,500 institutions subscribe to our publications. The majority are in the financial sector, including some of the world’s largest investment banks and wealth managers. We also have a growing number of corporate clients, as well as many relationships with governments and central banks.

The London team currently consists of around ninety full-time staff based in our office in Victoria. It is vital that you are happy to work in a small, close-knit unit. For further information on the company, visit the website at www.capitaleconomics.com.

The Job:

The role involves data retrieval and analysis and the construction of charts and tables. Once proficiency in these skills has been demonstrated, there will be a chance to play a junior role in the production of research. An aptitude and interest in economics, current affairs and financial markets is essential. Successful candidates will have good attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure.

Research Assistants benefit from exposure to all geographies and markets that Capital Economics covers, and are more than welcome to attend the internal training that forms part of our Graduate Training Scheme (GTS). While there is no guarantee that Research Assistants will be offered an interview for a permanent position with Capital Economics, those who enjoy a successful time with us are highly recommended to the GTS recruitment team. In the past, a number of Research Assistants have returned to the company as permanent employees.

The current incumbents are Jack Oatley and Oliver Wilkes who would be happy to answer any queries. Please feel free to get in touch.
