LOCATION: This position is an onsite role, based in Indianapolis, IN at the Clif Bar Plant.

Mission: The Reliability Manager will serve as site leader for creating and maintaining a proactive maintenance strategy that focuses on optimizing uptime and plant OEE.  The ideal candidate for this role will excel at developing and implementation of an effective large scale reliability program.

Responsibilities & Outcomes:

  • Ensure personal safety, food safety, quality protocols, and internal controls policies are followed. Interacts daily with subordinates and/or functional peer groups.
  • Ensure that maintenance activities are done with a focus on life safety, food safety, and product quality.
  • Development and implementation of a proactive reliability and maintenance strategy of high performing organization centered around:
    • Preventative Maintenance
    • Work Planning / Scheduling
    • Technical capability building through loss intelligence and proper execution.
    • Predictive Maintenance / Condition Based Monitoring
  • Work closely with maintenance teammates in program development.
  • Provide solutions to opportunities in plant maintenance operations, staffing, training, etc.
  • Assist in the development and design of the facility CMMS (SAP) program.
  • Serve as a Continuous Improvement champion for the maintenance department.
  • Hire and develop direct report that could include MRO functions, planning/scheduling, among others.
  • Oversee spare parts purchasing and management to ensure parts availability for uninterrupted operation and planned events as well as optimal inventories and sourcing for cost control.
  • Oversee and develop SOPs for maintenance and reliability activities for the facility.
  • Follow through on commitment and persevere through challenges to find creative solutions to support growth productivity opportunities.
  • Work closely with plant maintenance leadership to ensure that necessary planned and unplanned parts are available for facility maintenance activities.
  • Determine need for and lead RCA exercises to reduce / eliminate reoccurring downtime.
  • Provide data driven information and methods to continuously improve on common Reliability Metrics, such as:
    • OEE
    • Uptime
    • MTBF
    • Planned / Unplanned Work Ratio
    • Tool Time
    • Breakdown reduction
  • Identify and develop any necessary predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Strong attitude of customer service towards production, quality, and all other internal customers.
  • Ability to coach employees to achieve established organizational goals.
  • Oversee multiple tasks with time, people, and equipment restraints in a professional manner.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

What You Bring:

  • Agility over Perfection.
  • Execution with excellence and prioritizing results.
  • Experience with predictive maintenance strategies and implementation.
  • Extensive experience with reliability and maintenance strategy development and implementation, preferably in a food plant.
  • Experience in determining asset criticality.
  • Extensive experience with CMMS (SAP) systems.
  • Minimum of 5 years previous experience supervising or managing teams of maintenance technicians.
  • Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Outlook calendar and email management, written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, and other engineering documentation.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • S. in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years previous experience working in Maintenance / Reliability Management.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or food production environment strongly preferred.
  • Experience with TPM development and implementation preferred.
  • SQF, HACCP, and GMP experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
