This position is primarily accountable for performing equipment health checks, data gathering and field support. This will include mechanical trade expertise, performing condition-finding tasks, collecting and analyzing equipment health data and supporting equipment life improvement programs
Rotation schedule will be 2 weeks on-site with 2 weeks off-site

- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
- Complete assigned work in a professional manner, including necessary measurements, calculations, analyses, interpretations, reporting and recommendations
- Communicate effectively with operating, maintenance, and engineering groups to ensure optimum utilization of resources
- Improve mill mechanical maintenance systems and procedures by working with supervising engineers to evaluate new technologies and parts, initiating/coordinating trial programs and performing implementation if proven viable. Implementation involves review/alteration of maintenance procedures and instructions, alteration of inventories and identifying communication and training requirements to ensure altered practices are made known to maintenance personnel
- Attain a minimum of level I status in 3 predictive monitoring techniques within 2 years of being hired: UT testing, vibration monitoring and oil analysis. Attain level II status in UT and vibration monitoring within 3 years of being hired
- Work with Reliability Engineering and Fixed Plant Maintenance Staff to identify, develop and implement equipment monitoring programs, including machine diagnostics, precision maintenance, repair quality, equipment efficiency, and asset inspection programs as well as technical skills development and certification training programs
- Support condition monitoring, maintenance and maintenance engineering personnel in the performance of their duties, including developing and providing technical specifications and data, analysis/troubleshooting of mechanical systems, design and drafting, and other technical support in execution of their duties
- Provide guidance, mentorship, training and technical support to Engineers in Training, other Technologists, Maintenance Planners, Mechanics and other Maintenance staff
- Communicate effectively with other colleagues and supervisor(s) about assigned tasks and ensuring carryover and updates of completed tasks
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of environmental risks and hazards as well as comply with safety policies and procedures (MSHA and Red Dog EMS training) and ensure daily workplace inspections are done in order to accurately identify and correct workplace hazards
- Ensure compliance with all established policies and standard operating procedures and advise coworkers and visitors of such policies and procedures as required
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, level 5 or 6 Millwright or comparable experience and suitable aptitude and attitude
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Plant Maintenance and/or Reliability in a hard rock mineral processing environment, OEM design or field servicing environment applicable to mineral processing equipment
- Possess a level 1 certification in either vibration monitoring or oil analysis. Prior experience with additional predictive maintenance inspection technologies is an asset
- Must be proficient in MS-Windows environment and able to thrive in a fast-paced setting with abilities in MS Office suite
- Maintenance experience with grinding mills, gyratory crushers, conveyor belts, slurry pumps, agitators and gearboxes;
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Capable of working with all levels of the organization and in a team environment
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to articulate ideas and communicate needs in a concise manner
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks
