POSITION OVERVIEW

As a member of the Finance Technology Systems team within the Information Technology department, the Reinsurance Platform Business Analyst and Tester will be responsible for supporting projects on Reinsurance automation. The successful candidate must demonstrate an eagerness and ability to learn new systems and processes, a high level of analytical aptitude, and an ability to work independently while demonstrating strong problem-solving skills. The candidate must be an effective communicator able to speak easily with both technology and functional users and serve as an intermediary when necessary.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct business analysis to identify and prioritize technology features with functional users and developers.
  • Manage requests from users and make judgement call based on priority and complexity.
  • Apply critical thinking to understand the "why" of existing processes and provide better alternatives if necessary.
  • Develop familiarity and work effectively with new processes and systems.
  • Collaborate with developers and users to understand requirements and provide feedback on testability.
  • Develop and execute test plans and test cases and conduct user acceptance testing to ensure the quality and functionality of financial applications.
  • Identify, document, and track defects and issues, and collaborate with developers and users to resolve them.
  • Perform regression testing and ensure that new features and updates do not negatively impact existing functionality.
  • Take ownership of projects and tasks, demonstrating a strong and dynamic approach to problem-solving.

EDUCATION 

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Information Technology related field or similar combination or education and experience

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Technical Proficiency: A strong technical background with experience with renovating financial systems. Experience in Object-Oriented concept and reinsurance processes is a plus.
  • Analytical Aptitude: Capability to analyze complex data and systems to identify issues and opportunities for improvement, strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication is key, with the ability to speak easily with both technology and functional users, serve as an intermediary when necessary, and to convey technical information in a way that is understandable to non-technical stakeholders. Proficient in PowerPoint presentations, with the ability to create and deliver engaging presentation is essential.
  • Experience: 5-10+ years of experience in a similar role, demonstrating a depth of knowledge and expertise in the field.
