Role: Reinsurance Analyst
Location: Austin, TX / Dallas, TX
Reports To: Reinsurance Manager
Work Environment: Hybrid (2-3 Days/week in the office)

About You:
The ideal Reinsurance Analyst is pivotal to the company’s risk strategy, with the ability to analyze reinsurance contracts and pinpoint critical trends. You possess a robust background in statistical analysis, shaping key decisions and translating complex data into strategic actions. In collaboration with various departments, you will ensure reinsurance practices are in line with corporate goals, promoting innovation and operational excellence. A key part of your role involves supporting the Reinsurance Manager in the reinsurance placement process, enhancing the company’s capacity to secure optimal coverage terms. What You'll Do:
- Engage as a key member of the Corporate Risk team
- Collaborate with the Reinsurance Manager and Program Managers to support and facilitate the placement of program-specific reinsurance for Hippo and Spinnaker program business
- Manage and oversee the contracting process, from initial drafting to final approval and execution
- Contribute to the Corporate Risk Analytics team by monitoring portfolio-level exposures, responding to events, and coordinating modeling both gross and net exposures for various programs
- Develop and present complex ad-hoc reinsurance reports for executive management review
- Serve as a reinsurance subject matter expert, acting as a liaison with organizational counterparts
- Design and deliver market presentations for corporate reinsurance in partnership with reinsurance brokers, utilizing quantitative analysis and critical thinking skills
- Coordinate with Accounting, Reinsurance Operations, and Program Managers for document review, term implementation, and process coordination
- Oversee and drive the successful fulfillment of mandatory state data submissions
- Monitor and evaluate the financial strength and participation of Hippo and Spinnaker’s reinsurers
- Provide assistance to the Reinsurance Manager as required
Must Haves:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3-5 years insurance industry experience/expertise (reinsurer, insurance carrier or consulting firm)
- Foundational understanding of Reinsurance, P&C insurance, operations, and systems
- Exposure to different insurance business units and strategy
- Strong Microsoft Office skills especially with Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong interpersonal skills and confident in many different situations
- Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with technical teams and business stakeholders Exceptional analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills
- Proven experience leading day-to-day projects and making decisions to keep projects moving forward
- Multi-tasker, with an ability to prioritize and work independently as well as in a team setting
