Regulatory Program Manager, EMEA Corporate Operations

Dublin, Ireland

Who we are

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies - from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups - use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

Stripe makes it easy for any developer to access and manage the capabilities of the financial system including global payments, banking, and other innovative financial services. We’re a highly cross-functional organization and view that as part of the fun: we design our space to encourage as much collaboration as possible. We also have a culture of transparency that we carry through to email communication, ensuring that Stripes all around the world have the information they need to make good local decisions.

What you’ll do

As a program manager on the Global Corporate Operations team, you’ll be responsible for creating and running processes that help us coordinate and execute on a global scale. You’ll work closely with enterprise risk and compliance leadership as well as first line operations teams across Stripe to deliver strategic projects and programs. The successful program manager may have experience leading large-scale projects spanning operations in a regulated environment. The primary focus of this role will be to continue to build the EMEA Corporate Operations regulatory programs, with the immediate focus on delivering EMEA third party risk regulations.

The successful candidate should be able to distil complexity into clarity, and drive impact and velocity across teams. They are curious, driven, focused, and detail-oriented, able to influence without authority, relentless in driving to closure, and able to build strong relationships. They thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment. They are strategic, able to see the big picture and business context, and able to find creative solutions as a result.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Outsourcing program in EMEA; maintaining the overarching framework, strategy and direction.
  • Manage the program deliverables, including oversight of Stripe Delivery Centre (“SDC”) Corporate Operations output to ensure compliance with regulatory obligations in EMEA.
  • Support the strategic build out of a Global Outsourcing program, sharing best practices and leveraging the high standard as set by the EMEA program.
  • Maintain existing outsourcing governance and framework, identify opportunities for improvement and implement continuous enhancements to the program.
  • Work closely with 2nd line of defence partners within Enterprise Risk Management and Compliance to ensure adequate oversight processes are in place.
  • Oversight of the EMEA Operational Resilience program aligned to the regional regulatory requirements.
  • Project management of ad hoc requests originating from internal audit, assurance, external audits and regulators, where cross functional input is required.
  • Own and present deliverables for regulated legal entity Boards of Directors across the EMEA region.
  • Facilitate project retrospectives to collect feedback to draw out lessons learned and document best practices.
  • Track projects, timelines and commitments on projects and deliverables.

Who you are

We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements

  • 5+ years experience in leading the delivery of regulatory programs in a financial services environment.
  • Understanding of compliance and regulatory (payments) obligations including Third Party, Outsourcing and Operational Resilience.
  • Demonstrated experience in complex cross-company projects and maintaining scalable programs.
  • The ability to quickly understand complex problems and exercise excellent judgement in helping find a well-balanced solution.
  • A hands-on approach to building and delivering against regulatory requirements, with a strong commitment to ensuring compliance and operational excellence for Stripe.
  • The ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • The ability to work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders.
  • An effective and relatable “culture of compliance” mentality.
