What We Are Looking For:

The Regulatory Policy Counsel works closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop and advocate public policy positions that support Bandwidth’s business strategies. This team member is responsible for supporting a wide range of global communications regulatory and public policy initiatives and advocacy. This includes cross-functional coordination with various internal teams to develop and refine policies, practices, and procedures that support Bandwidth’s business priorities and ensure global regulatory compliance.

What You'll Do:

  • Support Bandwidth’s public policy advocacy efforts at the Federal Communications Commission, state public utility commissions and international regulatory authorities on issues related to voice communications, telephone number administration, CPaaS, UCaaS, CCaaS, intercarrier traffic exchange, emergency calling and SMS/MMS services.
  • Partner with legal and operational stakeholders to support new and existing products and long-term strategic business opportunities and initiatives while ensuring adherence to critical communications laws and regulations.
  • Assist a wide range of internal clients in the development of strategies and solution initiatives, and advise on important new regulatory developments to ensure consistent alignment across diverse client groups. 

What You Need:

  • JD from a top law school. Admission to practice law.
  • At least 5 years of relevant U.S. legal experience.
  • Comfortable familiarity with the communications industry, including Internet Protocol technologies.
  • Outstanding writing and oral communications skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a variety of tasks, evaluate alternatives quickly, and provide top quality legal assistance and support to business clients.
  • Collaborative work style and well-developed and professional interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to undertake large, long-term projects with creative approaches but successfully implementable solutions.
  • Ability to use independent judgment and discretion in decision making and problem solving.
  • Detail-oriented approach needed to recommend and implement tactical and strategic improvements.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with the appropriate discretion.
  • Desire for constant learning within a rapidly changing environment.
