RNs that work with The Oncology Institute receive specialized new hire training and have tremendous opportunity for growth.
The Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor duties include:
- Practices within the RN scope
- Reports directly to the Director of Nursing
- Responsible for conducting training for Registered and Licensed Vocational Nurses
- Conducts weekly educational/structured staff meetings
- Assess staff performance, completes annual reviews
- Accountable for the overall day to day infusion operations
- Travels frequently to assigned sites to conduct safety and operational inspections
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skill to carry out the nursing process when providing patient care.
- Interacts and collaborates effectively with operational management
- Manage Staff schedules, call-outs, ratios
- Manage disciplinary conduct issues
- Satisfies the established standards of the nursing practice.
- Supervises and delegates patient care tasks to RN/ LVN and other patient care team members.
- Promotes teamwork with physicians and personnel of other departments.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education and/or Experience:
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
- Two or more years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- One year of RN Supervisor experience
- Oncology experience preferred
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- A Registered Nurse who is currently licensed to practice, in good standing, in the state of service (CA)
- ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certification Required within 3 months upon hire
- OCN preferred but not required
- Must maintain current BLS certification throughout employment.
- BLS certification is required upon hire.
- ACLS preferred but not required
