ABOUT THIS POSITION

Location: Hybrid in Alpharetta, GA (2-3 days in office)

The Regional Support Counsel, Americas, will have an important role in administering the legal aspects of negotiating commercial contracts and then implementing such agreements for energy storage systems. This role will interface with internal sales and operations teams, our customers, and our supply chain. The role will be reporting to the Americas Legal Department for substantive purposes and will be embedded within the Americas operations team. This position offers an opportunity to make a significant contribution to increasing the profitability of the operations of our valuable Americas region.

· This role will engage with our Americas Sales and Operations teams in with commercial contracting, the interpretation and enforcement of a portfolio of operation and maintenance contracts, management of related procurement and supply chain contracts, efficiently resolving disputes, and ultimately delivering our service offerings to our customers in compliance with contractual requirements.

· This role will support the Operations team in honoring warranty obligations to our customers and enforcing warranty claims against Fluence’s suppliers and vendors.

· In other words, you will be an in-house lawyer often with a customer-facing role, and all of us are responsible for great customer service.

· This role will support Americas both sales and regional operations. The subject matter, technical details and personalities will be numerous and varied.

· This is hybrid role, with 2-3 days of remote work permitted. The office location for this role is foreseen to be in Alpharetta, Georgia, and occasional business travel should be expected.

· Most Fluence people wear multiple hats. On any given day you might provide overflow legal support on a variety of topics, such as procurement or sales contracting.

What does the ideal candidate bring to Fluence?

  • You have 3 -5 years of legal experience with interpreting technically complex contracts, commercial negotiations, and dispute resolution. This should include some experience with both sales contracts and enforcing contracts.
  • Ideally you also have experience with negotiating and drafting contract amendments and change orders.
  • You probably began your career by either laboring happily in a swanky law firm and/or have been exposed to the joy of an in-house legal department.
  • You have excellent judgment, both in business and interpersonal matters, except you like lawyers.
  • You have familiarity with renewable energies and/or the energy storage sector.
  • You have impeccable ethics and a commitment to compliance and safety. (We do not make jokes about compliance or safety.)
  • Spanish language skills would be a plus but not required.
  • You are motivated in your work style and are comfortable managing complex legal matters.
  • You are licensed to practice law in the jurisdiction where you work.
