Regional Organizing Manager

The Climate Action Campaign is looking for a creative and flexible mid-level organizer (3-5 years of experience) to help manage multiple in-state federal and administrative issue advocacy programs across a number of key states. With guidance from the (new department name) Director, the Regional Organizing Manager will:

  • Lead multiple state-based coalitions composed of funded and non-funded partners working to build support for bold federal and administrative climate action in key states through media, grasstop cultivation, meetings with federal lawmakers, and large-scale grassroots activation.
  • Manage, coach, and drive on-the-ground funded partners to achieve their goals by facilitating weekly state calls, coaching and supporting partners through strategies and tactics, leading national trainings and briefings, and identifying ways to support and lift up local voices.
  • Work closely with CAC leadership to developing state- and target-specific strategies, which includes developing a deep knowledge of targets and districts, drafting plans and concept memos, participating in regular planning calls/meetings, providing guidance to in-state partners, coordinating with the campaigns govt affairs teams and others and tracking policymaker actions.
  • Build consensus and maintain a disciplined focus within each state coalition on key strategies and messages. Ensure timely execution of agreed upon tactics. Lead the coalition in debriefing to ensure continual learning.
  • As needed plug gaps and help scale our work in each state by conducting direct outreach to allies, grasstops leaders, and grassroots activists.
  • Track partner grant deliverables and report on field activities to internal and external national coalition stakeholders. Provide direct feedback to partners and help problem solve with partners who are not meeting their metrics.
  • In key moments lead rapid response activities.
  • Frequent travel to key states (monthly).
