About the Role
Job title: Regional Director - Spain
Contract type: Full time contractor role

Reporting line: SVP Destination and Partnerships, EMEA
Summary of the role but also what our team are up to:
As Regional Director, your primary responsibility will be to develop, onboard, maintain, and retain a high-quality portfolio of attractions and experiences, ensuring that our local customers see and experience the best of everything that your assigned destinations have to offer. We’re looking for someone who loves the art of contract and rate negotiation, using their expertise to create win-win scenarios that strengthen our client relationships. An integral part of the role will be to maintain a full understanding of the P&L of your markets, while working to increase profitability through ongoing analysis and partnership efforts. You’ll be working closely with attraction partners to provide market data and incremental customer insights to align our mutual goals.
This role is key to the Commercial department, which ensures that Go City’s global customer’s expectations are exceeded when visiting a Go City destination, while simultaneously balancing the commercial interests of our operation. Being the destination expert, you will be the face of Go City to our attraction partners and will bridge the gap between their needs and ours.
This role will manage the Barcelona and Madrid markets, although you should be open to any expansion of this remit.
What you’ll do/ be helping us to do
Under the breadth and understanding of Go City’s multi-attraction pass offerings, pass management systems, proprietary market insights, and being local experts, Regional Directors will:
● Develop and sustain strategic partner relationships by utilizing Go City’s market insights and relevant external data insights. Provide strategy, revenue opportunities, and marketing opportunities with a consultative and analytical approach.
● Leverage strong contract and rate negotiation skills to craft agreements that strengthen partnerships and align with Go City strategic goals.
● Provide strategic, high-touch account management for top-tier attractions, while utilizing low-touch account management strategies to support mid- and long-tail partners effectively.
● Maintain a full understanding of the P&L of your markets through ongoing analysis; raise any red flags that pose a risk to the financials of the business and implement solutions to mitigate these risks.
● Leverage strong analytical skills and data insights to drive informed decisions and implement strategies that optimize performance and achieve business goals.
● Develop business cases for development or improvement of Go City products in your markets to increase profitability for the business and/or improve the customer or partner journey.
● Ensure that all rates, inventory and content are consistently optimized on the Go City platform to maximize customer conversion and Go City profitability.
● Secure competitive rates and inventory during during high demand periods to meet Go City’s customer expectations and optimize Costs of Goods Sold.
● Secure deals and promotions throughout the year as needed to support Go City’s merchandizing, and marketing initiatives.
● Build the portfolio of local attractions by introducing new attraction prospects into Go City’s ecosystem and retaining key partnerships.
● Monitor the voice of customer to ensure we are solving problems and meeting (or exceeding) existing expectations from the partner and customer. Implement solutions to overcome pain points or improve the consumer or partner proposition.
● Provide insights into Go City’s technology offering of integrations as needed from both the customer and partner perspective. Champion new technologies and innovative partnerships to remain competitive in the digital landscape.
● Maintain a consistent presence in the field to frequently meet with partners, test Go City products, conduct market research, attend networking events, and develop sales opportunities. This may require travel and sometimes outside of business hours.
● Serve as the local “expert” for the destination landscape in your market(s), including having a timely pulse on industry trends and the competition.
● Open new businesses and increase production on local sales and/or affiliate accounts throughout the region. This includes training the new locations, incentivizing staff to grow sales, and managing contribution.
● Develop incentive programs to motivate third party resellers.
● Source, present, and execute marketing and promotional initiatives to grow market-share and improve customer awareness.
● Support cross-departmental initiatives and projects aimed at improving the experience for both the partner and customer, while carefully balancing the company’s commercial performance.
● Build and oversee budgetary needs for your respective territory.

Requirements
What do you have/Who are you?
● You are based in Barcelona or Madrid (with a preference of Barcelona)
● You are fluent in both, written and spoken Spanish
● Ideally, you have strong pre-existing relationships in the tourism market locally
● You have proven expertise in business development and excellent rates and contracts negotiation
● You are a natural problem-solver, able to gain internal consensus to overcome obstacles and willing to roll up your sleeves to personally implement solutions
● You understand complex business models and pricing scenarios and thrive on data analysis. Data doesn’t intimidate you. You enjoy analysing it to make informed decisions
● You are willing to work in a remote work environment and as such are an independent self-starter. You exhibit strong organizational skills
● You have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and proven experience building deep and influential relationships with key stakeholders, executive level clients and internal business partners
● You have ability to adapt and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
● You have an in-depth understanding of the attractions market
● You are proficient in Microsoft office suite tools, familiarity with Salesforce, JIRA, and/or Tableau would be an advantage
● You have strong project management, business analysis, interpersonal and communication skills

Location
● The role is home based, with frequent visits to key strategic partners such as attractions, convention bureaus and travel trade organizations in your market.
● Travel to our London based Head Office and industry trade shows will also be required from time to time.
