Reference Librarian

LAC Federal is seeking a Reference Librarian to work for a prestigious federal library in the Research Triangle Park, Raleigh, North Carolina area. The Librarian will provide high-quality reference and instruction services including literature searching, development of training material, library resources use instruction, research methodologies, and support of bibliometric research. This is a full-time, hybrid position with benefits.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the library portion of the weekly report
  • Conducts literature searches and organizes results in EndNote
  • Creates Endnote libraries for use for peer review process
  • Prepares bibliometric reports and visualizations
  • Conducts weekly and monthly research alerts
  • Provides additional reference services
  • Develops classes and training materials
  • Teaches group and one-on-one training classes
  • Assists with marketing of the library and other special projects.

Requirements

  • Must be ACA-accredited MLS (Master of Library Science).
  • Master’s degree in Library Science preferably with specialized or government libraries concentration
  • Three (3) years of experience providing customer service in a library, educational or public service environment.
  • Three (3) years of experience using popular software programs with ability to learn new technology, preference given to candidates with experience in manuscript management systems.
