Role: Redis Administrator
Location: Remote (Anywhere in US)
Job Description:
As a Redis Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our Redis environments to support high-performance and scalable applications. You will work closely with development teams to ensure that our Redis deployments are robust, secure, and efficiently integrated with our applications. Your expertise will contribute to the seamless performance and reliability of our caching and real-time data processing capabilities.
Responsibilities:
• Install, configure, and maintain Redis servers and clusters across various environments.
• Monitor performance metrics and logs to identify and resolve issues affecting Redis performance and availability.
• Implement and manage backup and recovery procedures to prevent data loss.
• Ensure high availability and disaster recovery capabilities through effective clustering and replication strategies.
• Apply security measures, including network access controls and data encryption, to protect sensitive information.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize data access and caching patterns for application performance.
• Automate routine administrative tasks to improve efficiency and reliability of Redis operations.
• Keep up to date with Redis releases and technologies, applying updates and patches to maintain system security and performance.
• Develop comprehensive documentation on system configurations, procedures, and best practices for Redis administration.
• Provide technical support and guidance to development teams and other stakeholders on Redis usage and optimization.
Required Skills:
• Overall experience of 5 years and minimum of 3 years of experience in managing Redis in production environments.
• Strong understanding of Redis architecture, data types, and replication mechanisms.
• Experience with high availability setups, such as Redis Sentinel or Redis Cluster.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python) for automation of tasks and processes.
• Knowledge of network and data security practices.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools and techniques for Redis.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a commitment to high-quality work.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Redis certification.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with other database technologies and NoSQL stores.
