Role Summary

In January, we reached the milestone of 400 global employees and, later this year, our London office is due to move to a new, larger premises. This means that 2024 is already proving to be a year of continued rapid growth at Costello Medical, full of many exciting opportunities.

As the company continues to expand, so does our Operations division which remains at the heart of our business. As a result of this exciting growth, we are seeking a talented Recruitment & Office Administration Apprentice who is motivated by making a real impact on a growing company and its people, particularly within our vibrant London office.

Alongside established colleagues, this role spans two key responsibilities. Firstly, you will contributing to the smooth running of the London office space, including the kitchen, breakout and communal areas. Secondly, you will be supporting our busy Talent Acquisition (recruitment) team with general tasks, such as booking recruitment events, arranging interviews and greeting candidates, as well as replying to candidate queries. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to a wide range of areas across business operations in an exciting new role.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring that we maintain a safe, tidy and professional environment in our London office, including managing the communal kitchen to a high standard
  • Booking visitors onto the appropriate security system(s) for all our UK offices, as well as welcoming guests who visit the London office
  • Purchasing supplies, including kitchen consumables, stationery, and more
  • Playing a pivotal role with the organisation of internal and external events, such as client meetings, on-site interviews and social events
  • Supporting with the key stages of the recruitment process, including marking assessments and scheduling interviews
  • Posting job applications across a range of job boards, mainly comprising of university job boards, and ensuring these are all accurate and kept up to date
  • Booking our attendance at career fairs and managing the arrangements of these
  • Supporting with ad-hoc tasks and projects that aim to innovate and improve our hiring processes as the company continues on its rapid growth trajectory
  • Providing ad-hoc support to the Senior Operations Coordinator, Senior Talent Acquisition Coordinator, and the wider Operations team, where required

The successful candidate will work towards the Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship, which usually takes around 15 months to complete. The apprenticeship training will include tutor support, access to a virtual learning environment and regular webinars. You will also receive on-the-job training, support and guidance from several members of our Talent Acquisition and Facilities teams, as well as other experienced colleagues across the Operations division.

Requirements

About You

The successful candidate will be proactive and eager to take on new challenges with a friendly, positive, and ‘can-do’ attitude. You will also value the opportunity to develop your skills in a dynamic and fast-paced office environment.

Essential requirements for the role are:

  • Grade 5 or higher (or equivalent) in GCSE Maths and English. A-Levels would also be an advantage
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, alongside a desire to build robust and sustainable working relationships with others
  • A friendly and approachable demeanour, including the desire to provide outstanding customer service both internally to colleagues and externally to candidates
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
  • Excellent numerical skills
  • A commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of recruitment and candidate data, as well as a good understanding of its sensitive nature

Some experience using the Microsoft Office suite is advantageous but not essential, as full training would be provided.

The Recruitment Process

Our recruitment process includes a telephone interview with a member of the Talent Acquisition team, followed by a short assessment for you to complete in your own time. If successful, you will be invited to an interview with senior members of our Talent Acquisition and Facilities teams.

Whilst Costello Medical offers a hybrid working policy, due to the demands of this position, the successful candidate will be required to work in the office a minimum of 4 days per week, making it a predominantly on-site role.
