SAIT's dynamic Marketing team leads the institutional Marketing and Recruitment Plan, manages brand, marketing and recruitment initiatives, and operates key digital marketing channels.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, Marketing and Recruitment, you will coordinate strategic and targeted recruitment activities for SAIT. You are a creative, personable and tactical marketing professional with an interest in experiential marketing strategies to drive customer/student acquisition.

You are a people and experience-focused individual. Your presentations and participation in events are memorable and unmistakably SAIT. You have experience planning, implementing and reporting on recruitment activities, both virtual and in-person, go beyond traditional classroom visits to unique venues with unique, focused on capturing the attention and excitement of targeted audiences. Your flawless execution of recruitment activities evoke inspiration and engage our audiences in the SAIT experience. During events you ensure guests are attended to with subject matter experts and knowledge of post-secondary education, our programs and our admissions processes, and where required you provide training to SAIT ambassadors. You are on-hand at many of these recruitment activities to coordinate logistics and fulfil an advising role yourself.

You have exceptional communication skills with a proven ability to cultivate strong relationships and partnerships with various stakeholders including prospective students, parents, guidance counsellors, career advisors, adult learners, alumni, industry partners, faculty, staff, and suppliers. In ensuring client satisfaction, you show a passion for quality with exceptional attention to detail. You are recognized as a community and consensus builder and work to create a collaborative environment leading to extensive stakeholder buy-in and engagement. You are patient when you need to be, and bold when the objectives require it.

The Role

  • Recruitment – 70%
  • Plan, execute and oversee all activities focused on recruitment and community building for prospective and applicant students, their families, and counsellors and educators.
  • Maintain the recruitment calendar for long-range planning and preparation.
  • Organize all aspects of an event from conception to completion including, but not limited to: goals/objectives, detailed timelines and task lists, budgets, scheduling rooms/venues, staffing and assignments, logistics, fire marshal approvals, transportation, custodial, catering/hospitality, decor, entertainment, supplies and promotional items needed, evaluation and final reports, and researching venues.
  • Conduct briefings and/or regular meetings with your manager, peers and volunteers as needed, debriefing with key constituents.
  • Coordinate recruitment equipment, program materials, car rentals, accomodations and more.
  • Participate in external recruitment activities and associations, including the Educational Liaision Association of Alberta (ELAA).
  • Conduct annual review and assess needs for future recruitment activities and opportunities.
  • You are creative and initiate new recruitment activities aligned to the strategic marketing plan and objectives.
  • Work with the team to initiate printing, signage, mailings, and equipment needs for recruitment activities.
  • Conduct on-campus recruitment activities such as Student for a Day, Campus Tours and presentations. Travel and conduct off-campus recruitment activities such as presentations and booths in community, agency or high school environments.

  • Client Services – 30%
  • Monitor and respond to inquiries from prospective students, influencers, educators and other key audiences through email and other systems
  • Provide critical information about SAIT programs and student services to key audiences over various communication channels.
  • Collaborate with multiple client groups to source speakers, ambassadors and content.
  • Ensure project planning includes stakeholder input and considerations.
  • Support a client-centred approach in all aspects of the work we do, with a focus on transparency and inclusion.

Qualifications

  • The incumbent will possess:
  • Degree or diploma in marketing, human resources, business administration, hospitality or similar field.
  • Two to three years of related work experience in recruitment and marketing.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and access to reliable transportation.
  • Demonstrated exceptional customer service experience.
  • Project management and client services skills, collaborative team member, and able to manage multiple client projects and deliver on deadlines.
  • Organized and detail-oriented, able to maintain quality control and consistency in the look and feel of SAIT’s institutional events.
  • Ability to present publicly to large and small audiences on marketing strategies, trends, and the work that we do. Comfortable hosting and/or moderating discussions about SAIT programs and offerings, facilitating Q&A and engaging with target audience in live, virtual or in-person, events.
  • Working-level skills with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with virtual event platforms (i.e. Hopin, Zoom, etc) considered an asset.

Salary range: $51,083.50 - $64,881.70
Hours Per Week: 36.25 hours
