The Role

We are looking for a dynamic Reconciliation Team Lead to join our team in Portsmouth, NH/Remote in the U.S.

The Reconciliation Team Lead is a full-time position that will oversee the reconciliation and return processes for all Paymode-X (PMX) settlement accounts and work closely with internal teams to provide accurate reporting on bank channel analysis billing and files. The Team Lead will support, review, and approve reconciliations for over 65 settlement accounts as well as all additional settlement accounts that are opened.

The primary responsibilities include preparing daily/monthly bank reconciliations, maintaining spreadsheets, preparing journal entries, monitoring bank activities, and correcting reconciliations. You should demonstrate accounting expertise, independent decision-making, the ability to work under pressure, analytical skills, and a sense of urgency. This dynamic person will work with our bank partners, external Clients, and internal business associates to leverage all resources required to effectively and efficiently complete payment reconciliation and processing on time. This role may also require you to learn and support other areas of the Operations team. 

How you’ll contribute

  • Develop a deep understanding of Paymode-X payment processing, funding methods, Client trends, and business needs  
  • Prioritize your daily tasks and use your expert organization skills at every opportunity to ensure Client delight and accuracy  
  • Research, resolve, and reconcile all payment-related issues in a swift and timely manner  
  • Collaborate with team members on innovation, process improvements, and problem solving  
  • Utilize your sense of urgency during critical processing to ensure payments are delivered on time, every time  
  • Analyze and assess bank accounts and reconciliation while providing succinct and clear communication internally and externally 
  • Review and approve reconciliations of all settlement accounts and monitor the daily reporting is being sent to our channel partners 
  • Assist the Reconciliation Specialists with researching and resolving all variances on the settlement accounts 
  • Review and approve settlement account adjustments that are entered into PMX and the bank systems 
  • Monitor the return processing to ensure proper steps are being taken to move funds in all settlement accounts and proper reporting is being provided timely to the bank channels 
  • Work with Finance to ensure accurate Dividend Payouts are processed and fees are being properly transferred to the revenue account 
  • Work closely with Production Support to prioritize reconciliation and payment processing tickets 
  • Create research tickets and work with Production Support to correct any file and/or membership issues 
  • Provide support to the Reconciliation Specialists team 
  • Ensure Standard Operating Procedures are updated and accurate 
  • Work with leadership to automate, improve, and refine processes over time 

 

 If you have the attributes, skills, and experience listed below, we want to hear from you

  • 5+ years of Treasury, Cash Management, Accounting or Finance experience (Required) 
  • Demonstrated understanding of settlement account reconciliation 
  • Experience with Reconciliation software/tools 
  • Experience processing domestic and international transactions  
  • Strong PC skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, with exceptional skills in MS Excel 
  • Demonstrate effective problem-solving and decision-making capabilities 
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills 
  • Ability to partner closely with internal and external stakeholders to support optimal collaborative efforts  
  • Ability to conceptualize problems, solutions, and recommendations for Product Management 
  • High emphasis on attention to detail 
  • Sense of urgency and drive to meet goals  
  • Prior experience in cash operations or payment processing is a PLUS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics (CTP, CPA, or MBA is a PLUS)
