How you will contribute:
As a Reconciliation Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations. Working closely with both our Finance and Operations teams, you’ll help manage the reconciliation processes to ensure timely and accurate balancing of financial transactions. Your focus will be on managing payment reconciliations, investigating discrepancies, and collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders to drive improvements and maintain a high level of operational accuracy. Other responsibilities include:
- Daily Reconciliations: Balance the cash book, general ledger, and bank accounts on a daily basis, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
- Card Transaction Management: Reconcile card transaction reports daily, working with relevant Visa files to ensure proper tracking and settlement of all transactions.
- Discrepancy Investigation: Identify and resolve unreconciled entries by conducting root cause investigations, ensuring any discrepancies are promptly addressed.
- Chargeback and Claims Monitoring: Track chargebacks and manage untraceable claims receipts, ensuring timely resolution and follow-up.
- Process Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to improve reconciliation processes and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Build and maintain effective relationships with both internal Finance teams and external partners, ensuring open communication and seamless operational execution.
- Customer Service: Deliver high standards of customer service by responding swiftly to requests and inquiries, providing clear and accurate information to external clients.
- Operational Excellence: Attend regular team meetings, contributing to discussions on process improvements and participating in the implementation of solutions in problem areas.
- Automation and Innovation: Support the development of automated reconciliation processes, leveraging tools and technologies to streamline operations and reduce manual effort.

Requirements
About You
While not essential, the following experience is highly desirable in our ideal candidate for this position:
- Proven experience in payment reconciliation within a banking or financial services environment, with specific knowledge of working with VISA transaction files.
- Experience balancing cash books, general ledgers, and performing bank reconciliations on a daily basis.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies effectively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment and independently take ownership of your role, driving continuous improvements.
- Experience monitoring chargebacks and managing claims receipts is preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across teams and with external stakeholders.
- Proactive problem solver with a focus on process improvement and operational efficiency.
- Familiarity with automation tools or experience with systems that support process automation is a plus.

About Our Process:
We can be flexible with the structure of our interview process if someone's circumstances or timescales require it but our general structure is:
- 30-minute people screen with our talent acquisition specialist via google hangouts.
- 1-hour technical interview interview via google hangouts.
- 45-minute final interview via google hangouts.
