Method is seeking a React Engineer with intimate familiarity with the web platform to join our team. Our Front End Engineers are engaged in the full spectrum of product development, working with a team to write great software and build engaging products. Do you have the technical and relational skills to build business-critical applications with a high-performing, cross-functional team?

We generally operate with small teams working closely together on a wide variety of projects that range from an apparel design studio in the browser, to offline-enabled mobile web applications. We have products in production today built with a range of platforms. We are not religious about our technology, but choose the best for the problem. Our web stack today includes React, Angular, Vue.js, Ruby on Rails, node.js, .NET, and we have Go in production as well.

You want the web to compete with native platforms on every level; from building compelling experiences to maintenance, usability, and distribution. Regardless of what browser you use for daily use, you strongly believe that testing, supporting, and encouraging use of all browsers is core to the current and future success of the web.

You are a human first, a developer second. You are willing and able to partake in and lead communication with project stakeholders. You should be able to explain technical constraints to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience working on large development projects using the React ecosystem
    • Strong understanding of component lifecycles and hooks in React 17+
    • Strong proficiencies with Typescript, Next.js, Vite, and Redux-Toolkit
    • 3+ years of experience building robust unit tests and component tests using tools like React Testing Library, Vitest, Jest, Mock Service Worker, and/or Cypress
    • Understanding of State Management tools like Redux, Context, RTK Query and the different uses/purposes of each
    • Experience working within a codebase that utilizes code quality enforcement tools like ESLint, Prettier, and Sonarqube
    • Experience giving thorough status updates, grooming agile stories, and estimating work
    • Experience developing in an Agile project management environment
    • Experience building applications that interface with REST APIs
      • Understanding of scalable UI development patterns
      • Understanding of scalable API development patterns
  • Work well with others, enjoy collaborating with and mentoring others, unafraid to reach out to others for support
  • Love learning and growing as much as delivering high quality products and features

Nice to have:

  • Experience working in scaled frontend architectures like Microfrontends, Monorepos, and utilizing shared internal libraries
  • Experience building and deploying with cloud-hosted CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience building QA test automation using modern E2E Test frameworks like Cypress, Playwright, etc.
  • Experience building and maintaining application analytics
  • Experience building Authentication and protected applications
  • Experience utilizing tools to support monitoring, logging, and securing applications

Colorado Applicants (Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act Disclosure):  The starting salary range for this role to be performed in Colorado is estimated to be between  $109,000 to $120,000 annually.  This salary range is specific to Colorado residents only, and provided as a general estimate.  The amount offered may be higher or lower. Method  takes many factors into making an offer, including candidate qualifications, work experience, operational needs, travel and onsite requirements, internal peer equity, prevailing wage, responsibilities, and other market and business considerations. 

New York City Applicants (New York City Local Law 32;  Pay Transparency Law):  The starting salary range for this role to be performed in New York City is from $120,000 to $147,000. This salary range is specific to New York City residents only, and provided as a general, good faith estimate. The amount offered may be higher or lower. Method takes many factors into making an offer, including candidate qualifications, work experience, operational needs, travel and onsite requirements, internal peer equity, prevailing wage, responsibilities, and other market and business considerations.
