About You:
As a technical project manager joining our dynamic and growing team, you'll spearhead the development of experimental new airborne autonomy capabilities. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams of engineers, researchers, and aviation experts to deliver cutting-edge solutions that redefine the future of flight. Responsibilities:
- Serve as technical project management lead for experimental autonomy product design, development, integration, and test related efforts at Merlin.
- Collaborate with executive, technical, and management leaders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Work closely with team members to develop and execute realistic and detailed project plans
- Developing project scope and managing changes through the life of the project
- Establish resourcing needs
- Identifying, tracking and managing project risks
- Generating and maintaining project schedules
- Managing deliverables, including routine status updates and final delivery to the customer
- Driving software sprint planning
- Foster a culture of teamwork and communication, ensuring that everyone is on the same page and working towards shared goals.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams across Merlin to ensure timely delivery of project milestones and identify and mitigate all types of risks and challenges.
- Develop effective methods to keep stakeholders informed about progress, challenges, and milestones.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or related field
- 5 years of experience, specifically in technical project management and/or systems engineering
- Experience leading software development projects
- Expertise with project management and software development tools, especially Jira
- Extremely organized and detail-oriented
- Excellent communication skills
Nice to Haves:
- Experience with autonomous systems and/or aviation technology is highly desirable.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex technical projects from inception to completion.
- Experience with (but not over-reliance on) methodologies such as waterfall, scrum, and agile.
- Knowledge of aviation regulations and standards.
- Familiarity with machine learning, artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, or robotics as applied to aviation.
- Experience with field and/or flight testing.
- Pilot’s license or ground school experience is a plus.
