The Quality/Test Engineer Role: 

The Quality, Testing, and Compliance Engineer will fully test Darkhive’s array of products to ensure proper functionality and requirements fully met as outlined in statement of work.  This position will ensure compliance with all required and/or requested Regulatory Certifications. 

Job responsibilities include: 

  • Testing all aspects of the product: function/component, system, performance, regression, Regulatory Compliance and service. 
  • Work with development team to identify and capture test cases, ensure version management. 
  • Setting up of test environments, designing test plans, developing test cases/scenarios/usage cases, and executing these cases. 
  • Analyzes test results and provides feedback on usability and serviceability.  Will trace the result to quality risk and report data and suggestions to stakeholders 
  • Prepares prototypes of components assemblies and systems of either new or current products as directed by policies and procedures or written test plans or work requests. Ensures that the prototypes meet the established specifications. 
  • Builds test fixtures to carry out various needs associated with testing the components in a manner that will be accelerated in terms of time and that will correlate with actual field use conditions. 
  • Supports and performs verification and validation testing in both pilot and production environments and documents the testing results as part of Project Development. 
  • Maintain continuous communication with supervisor and stakeholders regarding project status(es), completion time projections, and any problems that may have arisen during the course of the project. 
  • Actively supports compliance of Company operations to all applicable laws, regulations and standards, good business practices and company documented procedures (including but not limited to FCC, FAA, Quality Systems Regulations, safety regulations and applicable statutes). 
  • Coordinate with Testing / Certification Labs to ensure product successfully obtains required certification on time. 

The Quality/Test Engineer position is an exempt, non-supervisory, on-site role in San Antonio, Texas.  This position reports to the Director of Hardware. Candidates must be in the San Antonio area or willing to relocate to San Antonio, Texas.  

Requirements

Qualifications you bring: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required in an engineering discipline (e.g. electrical engineering or computer science/engineering). 
  • 5-7+ years’ experience supporting manufacturing of electronic or electromechanical products in a Test & Develop Environment. 
  • Understands Manufacturing Test Strategy and demonstrates proficiency in at least one area of test development. 
  • Knowledge of Test Development areas including structural and functional test, development of Manufacturing Test Specifications and Design For Test Analysis. 
  • Combination of both hardware and software skillset with hands-on electronics build and troubleshooting capabilities in a test development environment. 
  • Understanding of relevant industry standards, specifications, and requirements. 
  • Ability to read and write comprehensive technical documentation.  
  • An understanding of the SW & HW development life cycle as well as the business approach for the product. 
  • Attention to details. 
  • Ability to work in a team as well as an individual. 
  • Ability to work under pressure, Develop Testing & Certification Timelines while maintaining deadlines. 
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

  • Master’s degree in an engineering discipline
