Summary/Objective: The overall responsibility of the Quality Manager will be to ensure products are developed and manufactured that integrate quality and continuous improvement into their processes by implementing quality management systems in a manner which fosters a culture of continuous improvement within the entire organization.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Implement robust quality systems in a highly complex microelectronics manufacturing environment.
- Be accountable for quality of several product segments, including processing of glass and sapphire wafers, high speed cable assemblies, and others by managing and coordinating activities across Manufacturing Quality, Supplier Quality, Customer Quality, and Engineering organizations.
- Proactively engage in the product/process development and preproduction stages to ensure products and processes are released with integrated quality feedback along with robust quality controls.
- Drive continuous improvement within operations through six sigma and lean manufacturing techniques.
- Customer Facing: Lead customer audits and represent the company
- Customer Quality: Partner with Customer Quality Engineer (CQE) on identification of root cause of quality issues and execution of product quality improvements through preventive or corrective actions.
- Field Quality: Interface with customers for quality-related tasks, audits and incidents and collect and summarize customer quality data to drive improvement.
- Partner with Manufacturing Quality Engineering (MQE) in execution of investigations and improvement efforts.
- Supplier Quality: Partner with Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) to interface with suppliers for Quality related tasks, audits and incidents to minimize quality risk from incoming materials.
- Ensure Quality engineering support for R&D, marketing, and operations for the development, modification, and qualification of new products and existing released products.
- Ensure proper documentation of processes exists and is being followed.
- Partner with Engineering and Operations to form a cohesive team, quick to solve issues. Drive Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) efforts and oversee implementation of controls and metrics.
- Work to sustain and improve quality management systems of ISO-9001, IATF 16949, and others.

Required Experience:
- Extensive experience developing or manufacturing products involving complex manufacturing processes such as semiconductor wafers, advanced chip packaging for integrated circuits, or high-speed optical products is required (>7 years required).
- Minimum 5 years in Quality Management (>7 years preferred).
- Operations/Manufacturing Management is a must.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts.
- Quality certification is desirable (CQM, CQE, or related)
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 QMS Standard (AS9100, ISO 13485, or IATF 16949 preferred)
Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related discipline required. Masters Degree or PhD Preferred.
