We offer a position as Quality Management Intern with the opportunity to gain experience on a cutting-edge data processing system. This is your chance to become a member of the team behind the fastest analytical database system on the market. You will learn about high performance implementations in the database kernel and in its distributed version based on the Hadoop environment. 

You will be part of our ActianX/Vector team, thereby engineering a family of products in C, which are provided for a variety of OS distributions. We are looking for team players that integrate into our distributed development team. You will be mentored by senior developers and be introduced into our software development process with responsibilities that cover design and implementation challenges.  

We are seeking an intern to assist with the maintenance of our ISO 27001 certification and the introduction of ISO 9001 at the Actian office in Ilmenau. The successful candidate will work alongside our Information Security and Quality Management teams to ensure that our organization continues to meet ISO 27001 standards, and to help implement and maintain ISO 9001 quality management system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the maintenance of the ISO 27001 certification by reviewing policies, procedures, and controls, identifying gaps and areas for improvement, and proposing corrective actions.
  • Work with the Information Security team to ensure that our organization remains compliant with ISO 27001 requirements.
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of an ISO 9001 quality management system by supporting the Quality Management team in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Assist in conducting internal audits to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards and identify areas for improvement.
  • Assist in the development of training materials and deliver training sessions to employees on ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Conduct research and analysis on emerging information security and quality management trends to identify best practices that can be implemented in our organization.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in computer science, informatics, electrical engineering, also in combination with an economics program or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 standards and requirements or an interest to learn acquire that knowledge.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and propose solutions to complex issues.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Jira, Confluence or similar applications.

Offer:

  • This is a part-time internship position, with a minimum commitment of 15 hours per week. The position is for a duration of 6 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and availability. The position offers a competitive stipend and the opportunity to gain valuable experience in information security and quality management in a professional setting.
