This position could be located in either Farmington Hills, Michigan or El Paso, Texas.
Although located at SEWS Office, this is a Hybrid position, which combines both in office and off-site work. Associates are required to work at least two days in the office each week, but also have the flexibility to work off-site.
Basic Purpose:
The Quality Manager in charge of current production programs for North America Business Unit assures customer satisfaction and excellent relations, managing the departmental quality assurance strategies and objectives. Monitors KPIs of the QREs service performance in order to meet customer expectation. Also to perform on site reviews at the customer and SEWS manufacturing sites to support on identification the improvement of the root cause analysis and continuous improvement of the quality systems.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drive NABU objectives, resources development for the improvement of the current production and warranty targets.
- To be in contact with customer quality representatives (SOE, STA, SQA) to review any problem reported as requested by customer.
- Support management on the supervision and measurement of the specific individual objectives of the QE staff.
- Lead and encourage the participation of the QA NABU and manufacturing teams or other departments (PD, SQA, warehouse) in the day to day meetings to identify risks/hazards associated with manufacturing processes that can lead to customer claims.
- Lead and encourage the participation of the QA NABU and manufacturing teams to apply hard and systemic countermeasures of customer claims to prevent reoccurrences.
- Drive extraordinary audits in the manufacturing processes to monitor efficiency of the countermeasures and adherence of the quality control plans.
- Support the APQP product realization process and understanding the linkage of the input -outputs to the warranty and current production functions.
- Support the GM in the development and monitoring of yearly budgets (indirect expenses).
- Management of QA functions KPI report outs in the monthly coordination meeting, internal manufacturing and external reports as needed.
- Lead the first level of escalation (internal and external) to solve issues with QA MFG, QA NABU, PD, PM managers.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Quality or related field along with 8-10 years experience in engineering including 2-4 years in middle management supervisory capacity
- Knowledge of automotive OEM structure. Minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing manager role, preferably in quality systems for the automotive industry.
- Strong organization and communication skills, as well as presentation proficiency to all levels of customer management and staff are expected.
- Able to travel domestic and international.
- Some on-call and/or shift work is necessary and expected as necessary to support customer requirements. Proficient in standard MS office PC/software applications and automotive OEM web applications.
