The Quality Engineer will be responsible for:
- Manage the product quality according to the customer and internal requirements;
- Prepares pre-production control plan and supports production schedules. Maintains the series control plan and the inputs for new projects. Responsible for ensuring CP and PFMEA are properly aligned and include lessons learned from past failures.
- Lead the activities for projects to reduce the production shop floor scrap by suggesting process improvement ideas.
- Responsible for the Pre-Production Approval Process (PPAP) activities for manufacturing area, including blueprint, dimensional verification, document completion and submittals internally.
- Initiating the process of field failure analyze, & coordinate the failure mode corrective action.
- Maintain and assure traceability of archived documents in the document control system. Assure all QA/ Production documentation is aligned, reviewed in required frequencies, and updated when needed.
- Supporting Production in the reaction of Lessons Learned regarding Customer complaints 0km and field failures.
- Support the Project Team in completing the APQP gate requirements related to QA.
- Participate in factory reaching structural planning with respect to complaint handling.
- Preparation of reports for tracking and optimization process improvements.
- Participation, implementation, and support project activities in the field commanded supplier management, cross border activities to maintain the standard complying with the quality management system.
- Monitors the needed process, performs capability studies and initiates actions to improve them. Initiates continuous improvement projects to reduce scrap and waste in the series production process.
- Select, train, and supervise Quality Assurance personnel and ensure that they comply with plant, safety and environmental policies. Coordinate the daily activities of the Quality Assurance personnel with the support of the Quality Coordinator.
- Participating in supplier development activities such as supplier audits, run at rate and supplier visits as necessary.
COMPETENCIES
- Able to work independently within the team. Keen interest in data analysis.
- Quality Tools (APQP, SPC, PPAP, Control Plan, PFMEA, MSA, Cpk)
- Problem Solving methodologies and root cause analysis required
- Must walk the production floor and be visible to employees who may have questions with regard to quality. Work any hours required to accomplish the job. Good social skills for involvement with customers.
- Able to read, write and speak English. Must have good communication skills.
- Interested in projects that will support production processes and testing for product development.
- Solid knowledge of Process Routine
- Handling of Non-conforming Product
- ISO 17025 - laboratory scope
- Lessons Learned, 5S/LPA
- Good communication skills, teamwork spirit, and self-awareness
- IATF 16949 – Internal auditor
- Six Sigma knowledge is preferred
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- 2+ years of working experience in the Automotive production/process/validation area
- Previous working experience in an automotive company or manufacturing as a quality engineer
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools, including Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and PowerPoint

- 5+ years of experience preferred
- 1 year of experience in IATF 16949 (QMS) preferred
- VDA 6.3 auditor certificate preferred
