This is the intermediate job level. Check and test samples of products and components. Inspect products purchased by their company from suppliers and maintain records of supplier performance. This data is important in helping suppliers to improve their performance and for making decisions regarding which suppliers can be relied on to meet specified requirements.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (not listed in any particular order)
- Check and test samples of products and components
- Inspect products purchased by their company from suppliers and maintain records of supplier performance.
- To carry out the inspection related activities of all components and assemblies in WFT-HV
- Dimensional and visual in-process inspection in conjunction with controlled drawings and applicable specifications.
- Final inspection of all jobs performed in the facility and 100% inspection of finished components.
- To perform or oversee functional testing of assembled parts to ensure that all acceptance criteria has been met.
- Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.
- Responsible for inspecting products using established inspection tools and techniques.
- Apply Weatherford, and where appropriate Client Company Quality, Health, Safety & Environment Policy and Management Systems.
- Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford.
- Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.
- Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
- Calibrate gages and repair simple gages
- Support manufacturing check in and check out gauging equipment – maintain status of calibration
- Maintain gage software
- Experience 2+ years as a Quality Control Inspector preferred
- Experience in the metrology field with demonstrated knowledge and skills in at least one of the following: physical, dimensional, mechanical equipment calibration preferred.
- Ability to read, correctly interpret and apply calibration procedures.
- Ability to establish priorities, work independently and proceed with work objectives with limited supervision.
- Working knowledge of metrology equipment: hardness testers, surface testers, optical comparators, bore gauge, indicator, GageMaker, micrometer, etc., preferred.
- Must be able to demonstrate basic math, read blueprints / engineering drawings, and operate measuring equipment
- Effective communication skills
- High School Diploma or GED Required
