Overview

We’re excited to be looking for a Quality and Compliance Specialist to join our Operations team in Brooklyn, NY. Reporting to our Senior Quality Manager, you will maintain the integrity of our products and brand through the execution of core processes and projects across our Testing, Inspections, Vendor Compliance, and Defects functions. 

This role is perfect for you if you are highly organized, detail-oriented, and a process-driven individual.

This role is based in Brooklyn, NY, and we have a 2 days in/3 days remote schedule.

What you’ll do

  • Oversee the development and production testing process and product integrity throughout the product life cycle
  • Partner with Product Development and Merchandising teams in the review of new product development and identify product regulatory, quality, safety requirements, and certification needs
  • Manage the review of test reports, escalation of failures, and support the development/implementation of corrective action plans (CAPs) 
  • Support the research, development, and implementation of new regulatory and performance standards to incorporate into Brooklinen testing protocols
  • Research, organize and execute special testing projects to support expanded or improved product offerings
  • Monitor quality defects and returns data and communicate trends to internal teams
  • Analyze data and leverage internal tools to report on Quality department KPIs across testing, inspections, and defect returns
  • Manage day-to-day communication with third-party service providers
  • Ensure department manuals and standard operating procedures are implemented and upheld across third-party service providers and suppliers
  • Monitor the production of new and core product quality through the managing in-line and pre-shipment inspections requests and report approvals

We're looking for someone who brings

  • 1-2 years of experience in consumer product testing, product integrity, quality assurance, regulatory compliance
  • An understanding of product performance and regulatory test methods, standards, and requirements
  • The ability to analyze and synthesize testing/inspection result data and effectively communicate to cross-functional partners and suppliers
  • High proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and Slack
  • Experienced with product life cycle and production management systems (i.e. NetSuite, Anvyl, PLM) and testing/inspection management tools (i.e.Interlink, Factored Quality and SaaS)
  • A desire for continuous improvement and the ability to understand gaps in skill set
  • Knowledge of regulatory and labeling requirements for the US and Canada is a plus! 
  • An understanding of product and material certifications and process is a plus! 

Compensation & Benefits

At Brooklinen, our goal is to offer a competitive total compensation package which we determine based on specific market data taking into account our company size, stage, industry, and location. The base salary for this role is $60K. 

Beyond base salary, we contribute significantly to offset the cost of health benefits, provide a financial stipend through Carrot Fertility to help with the costs associated with the fertility journey, offer a 401K with a 4% Safe Harbour match, have commuter benefits, and also provide a yearly product allowance. 

We have 14 weeks of 100% paid parental leave for all new parents, year-long Summer Fridays, a workday that starts at 10 am, four weeks of vacation, and a one-month paid sabbatical at your 5th anniversary.
