Planned Parenthood Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Specialist. The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for managing all clinical incident reporting and managing chart auding to ensure quality assurance. This position collaborates with various Patient Services leaders to ensure prompt reporting and escalation on areas of improvement in processes. The Quality Assurance Specialist will manage the data gathering and audits from clinics and perform follow-up evaluations of data to ensure consistent improvement as necessary.

Our Ideal Candidate will have the following qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience quality assurance administration.
- Licensed Vocational Nurse experience preferred.
- Familiar with basic anatomy, physiology medical terminology required.
- Experience in sexual and reproductive health clinical setting preferred.
- Experience managing multiple projects desired.
- Experience with Electronic Health Record utilization
- Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Suite programs.
About the position:
- Abortion patients are cared for at each of our health centers, and in part through the administrative, support, and other non-clinical services provided at all PPLA locations, and by all PPLA employees. Supporting these critical services is an essential job duty, and a fundamental responsibility of all employees and contractors.
- Manage the annual reviews for the purpose of developing and/or revising and updating programmatic tools and systems by soliciting input from the Clinical Services and Quality team:
- Quality Assurance Program and plan.
- Clinical Documentation Auditing calendar and review schedule
- STARS Chart Review Tools
- Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement Summary Plan.
- Special/focused studies
- Responsible for the performance of chart audit related to service delivery at PPLA and present areas of improvement
- Maintains and tracks completion of all quality studies/reviews types in collaboration with the Clinical Informaticist.
- Regularly reviews and updates data collection tools as appropriate to be consistent with PPLA Medical Standards & Guidelines, Electronic Medical Records procedures/template documentation, and other relevant quality performance standards.
- Participates in Quality Improvement Action Planning and Root Cause Analysis activities.
- Collaborate with the Training Department to ensure completion of annual clinical skills evaluations and medical record review as part of performance evaluation and competency validation.
- Manage all clinical incident reports submitted to the Clinical Services and Quality team including but not limited to collecting data, review and tracking. Reviews all clinical incident reports with the Chief Medical Officer and other relevant patient services leadership as needed.
- Prepares quality data reports for routine presentation to the Clinical RQM Subcommittee and AQC Committee of the Board.
