The Position

Alene Candles is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician for 1st shift. This is a temporary position, with the possibility of becoming a permanent position depending on performance.

The Quality Assurance Inspection Technician shall with minimal direction, perform incoming or in-process and finished goods inspections per applicable procedures. You must be able to communicate non-conformances identified to production and quality department leads as appropriate and follow up on the associated corrective actions. In addition, you will collect, and process required product samples and complete the required inspection documentation.

Rate of Pay

The QA Technician position pays $18.00/hour.

The Hours

This position works First shift, 5:30am - 3:30pm, Monday-Thursday. During our busy season, we anticipate there being overtime available. Busy season is typically August-December but is subject to change based on production needs.

The Location

We are located at 51 Scarborough Lane, Milford, NH. This position is onsite.

Who We Are Looking For

As a QA Technician, you will be responsible for collecting samples from the production line, testing them, monitoring the results, and logging them accurately to ensure compliance with our safety policies. If you have a good eye for detail, a strong sense of personal integrity, and are interested in learning more about the candle manufacturing process, then this could be a great position for you!


Additional Job Details

  • Perform and document incoming, in-process and finished goods inspection of candle and diffuser raw materials, in-process and finished candles per applicable procedure.
  • Perform first article inspection of new production runs validating that materials and process parameters meet specification.
  • Collect and process product samples as required by product method and assembly procedure.
  • Validate candle fill, weight or height and ensure candle weights have been entered into the appropriate database by production.
  • Enter inspection results and defect information into specified databases.
  • Maintain Alene standards of performance and comply with housekeeping, safety policies and procedures.
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned by the Quality Assurance Team Leader, Supervisor or Manager.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 months related experience and/or training.
  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical processes, professional journals, manufacturing procedures, safety and governmental regulations is desired.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedures is desired.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients or customers is a must.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagrammatical form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
