Quality Assurance Engineer 
 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES: 
 
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills required (both written and verbal). 
 
  • Self-motivated and desire to excel. 
 
  • Ability to adapt to a fast paced and changing work environment on a day-to-day basis. 
 
  • Evaluate customer complaints to determine preliminary root cause and direct corrective actions as appropriate.  Provide formal written evaluations summarizing findings. 
 
  • Responsible for assisting in corrective actions as it pertains to internal or external failures as reported through the SCAR and PCAR systems. For issues affecting product availability, lead team meetings to ensure actions and status are communicated effectively. 
 
  • Support Green Belt / Black Belt type projects to drive reduction in the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ). 
 
  • Create and implement procedures, and processes.  
 
  • Support development and implementation of systems supporting quality processes.

  • Other initiatives and projects as directed by Global Quality Assurance Manager - Fabrication.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
  • BS in an Engineering discipline, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering are preferred. 

  • 10+ years of experience (or equivalent) in a Quality Engineering role with demonstrated success in problem solving, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement, and implanting effective solutions.

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer is highly desirable.

  • Six Sigma Green Belt (or equivalent).

  • Knowledge of Quality Systems such as ISO:9001 is preferred.

  • Must have the ability to quickly learn and understand new concepts.

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.  Able to deliver well organized presentations to a large audience.

  • Able to make independent decisions without supervisory assistance.
  • Able to other Fabrication facilities. 
  • Fundamental knowledge of technical drawing interpretation is beneficial.
  • Working knowledge of measuring equipment.
  • Proficient in problem solving.
