General Post Description:
PIN is looking for a remote skilled QA Engineer to ensure the quality and reliability of applications that serve the needs of humanitarian work. Your primary responsibility will be to design, execute, and maintain comprehensive testing plans. You will closely collaborate with the product manager, tech lead, support coordinator, software developers, and other QA team members to ensure the delivery of high-quality software.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and execute test plans and test cases for various applications.
- Identify, record, and thoroughly document bugs and issues.
- Perform both manual and automated testing to ensure the quality of applications.
- Ensure applications meet functional and non-functional requirements.
- Collaborate with developers and product teams to troubleshoot, identify, and resolve issues.
- Review and analyze user stories and acceptance criteria to define test strategies.
- Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies to ensure high-quality software.
- Provide regular reports on testing progress, results, and defect tracking.
- Participate in Scrum ceremonies and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth and timely project delivery.
- Advocate for best practices in QA and ensure compliance with established quality standards.
Skills & Requirements:
- At least 3+ years of experience as a QA Engineer or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Experience with both manual and automated testing (Selenium, Cypress, etc.).
- Familiarity with bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla) and test management tools.
- Experience writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Proficiency in testing web applications and APIs (REST, SOAP).
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and testing environments.
- Experience with performance and security testing is a plus.
- Knowledge of scripting languages for automation (Python, JavaScript, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Full working proficiency in English.
