Performs a variety of Quality Control duties requiring a degree of knowledge of QC inspection activities and compliance to shop procedures. Acts in the capacity of a lead person.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (not listed in any particular order)
- Inspect parts in-process, finished products, and/or purchased materials for conformance to specifications.
- Observes production operations for conformance to specifications, preparing report of findings.
- Prepares and maintains records and documentation of inspection acceptance, rejection, and/or re-work requirements.
- Set up or adjust and operate inspection equipment to ensure its accuracy.
- Verifies applicable drawings and specifications are the current revision prior to use.
- Verifies that all measuring and test equipment is in current calibration and calibration labels affixed to each piece prior to use.
- Piece part inspection to include dimensional, visual, non-destructive testing and hardness testing as may be required.
- Receiving inspection to include dimensional, visual non-destructive testing and hardness testing as may be required.
- Ability to lead, supervise and provide direction to others.
- Ability to interpret quality control specifications and schematics or drawings.
- Maintain and update calibration database for calibrating equipment
- Coordinate outsource/in-house equipment due for calibration.
- Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.

- Ability to lead, supervise, direct and set priorities of inspection personnel.
- Ability to establish a teamwork environment.
- Ability to adequately read and interpret machine, weld and assembly drawings and select and accurately use inspection gages/tools.
- Working knowledge of wellhead equipment.
- 10+ years of performing inspection activities as a qualified Inspector.
- Advanced knowledge of inspection processes and documents related to job.
- High School or equivalent preferred.
- Qualifications in non-destructive testing (e.g., MP/LP/UT/RT).
- The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations.
