Role Overview
As the Manager, QA, you will be responsible for leading a Team of QA professionals, from Testers to Managers – to ensure the highest quality of 2K’s games and products. You will manage test processes, implement quality strategies and ensure adequate staffing for assigned projects.
This role is full-time, onsite in Madrid, reporting to the Director, QA.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and grow a team of QA professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence and continuous improvement.
- Establish Quality standards, best practices and regulatory standards.
- Risk Management and mitigation, prioritization of testing efforts and timely resolution of issues.
- Feedback & liaison with Functional & Compliance QA, Producers, Developers, & other External Departments.
- Liaison with Platform Holders to ensure guidelines & standards compliance.
- Joint sign-off of development milestones & managing the submission process.
- Manage bug reports, bug database, & QA reports.
- Manage department through day-to-day business.
- Quarterly performance reviews of direct reports.
- Raising disciplinary issues as appropriate.
- Build successful working relationships with Worldwide Development Studios Internal & External, QA Department locally & globally, Local Producers, Platform Holders, Producers, and Developers, and Third Party Developers.
- Actively participate in recruiting and interview process.
Knowledge and Skills
- Extensive management experience, including performance management, performance evaluations, mentoring and growing skills in QA teams.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in English language
- Successfully handling ambiguity, flexibility & understanding of the development and test process.
- Knowledge of bug database systems, QA process, test plan creation, and bug writing process.
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a QA Manager or equivalent.
- Knowledge of format holder standards (Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo).
- Hardworking, reliable, punctual, flexibility to work unsociable hours depending on deadlines.
- Knowledge of MS Office suite, Source Control and Visual Studio.
- Technically proficient with PCs, gaming consoles, and related hardware.
- Outstanding ability to lead through influence.
Basic Qualifications
- Must be able to communicate effectively & successfully in English, in both written and oral forms.
- Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 6+ years of QA experience.
- Passion for the video games industry.
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, tools and processes
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and people management skills.
- Reliable, with the ability to lead in a matrixed team environment.
- Attention to detail and positive personality to foster excellent working relationships.
