QA Engineer

About the Role

Our QAs work with their fellow team members to provide the quality assistance needed to build great features. You'll be a member of a feature team, responsible for delivering solutions that drive user outcomes in your product area, and contributing to a cohesive experience across the product suite. You will work directly with product managers, designers, and developers on a daily basis and influence others to ensure the best outcomes for our users and our product.

What You'll Do

  • Work closely with product personnel, designers, SRE and engineers to make products that have the best user experience possible.
  • Know your team’s features inside out.
  • Develop deep technical knowledge within your team’s domains and how they relate to the larger Pushpay platform.
  • Analyze, verify, and triage issues submitted by users, peers and other parts of the business; coordinating high priority issues and facilitating communications between the escalator and the engineering team.
  • Make suggestions and raise topics in QA Guild meetings.
  • Own the testing of small-medium features from kick-off to release with some assistance from Senior QAs.
  • Understand the importance of different types of testing, and seek support from team/specialists to implement them.
  • Understand (and prioritize testing around) the risks of a given project. Understand that risk exists outside of your own team and that your project imposes risks on other teams.
  • Run a thorough exploratory session with multiple pathways.
  • Understand the current status of a project and can communicate that to stakeholders and the team.
  • Identify gaps in process. Always seeking to improve how we work.

  • CO Pay Range: $77,798 - $95,086 / year

What You Bring

  • 3-5 years QA experience including commercial experience at a product development or SaaS company.
  • Knowledge and experience with Agile development methodologies. 
  • Experience with some variety of bug tracking system - e.g. Jira.
  • Knowledge and experience of testing software products.
  • Able to evaluate risk and identify high priority testing areas.
  • Understand the QA industry status quo and seek out new ideas.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical skill and critical thinking.
  • Seek feedback and provide it when prompted to your manager.
  • Empathy, open mind, willingness to learn from peers, and help them grow. 
  • Capable of training a new QA in a particular area they're familiar with.
  • Self-manage your tasks, time and the expectations you have set.
  • Generous with your time and knowledge, sharing and collaborating with others.
