The Role
- As the Director of Quality Assurance - Automation, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining an automation framework to support testing initiatives across the organization. The role requires a strategic leader who can define and execute quality assurance processes while driving operational excellence, ensuring high-quality delivery of products and services. The ideal candidate will work closely with various departments to build comprehensive QA pipelines, focusing on both functional and non-functional testing, and ensure that the end products meet appropriate quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a strategic plan for quality assurance activities, with a strong focus on test automation aligned with organizational goals.
- Design, build, and maintain an automation framework to support global testing initiatives.
- Define, implement, and improve quality assurance processes, methodologies, and best practices for automation and data testing.
- Oversee test strategy, planning, execution, and reporting for functional and non-functional testing, ensuring coverage of accuracy, reliability, security, and performance.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, data engineers, business analysts, and project managers, to ensure alignment with project goals and requirements.
- Identify and mitigate risks in systems, processes, and applications to ensure high-quality and integrity of the tested systems.
- Select, implement, and promote automation tools and frameworks to enhance productivity and efficiency within the QA process.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
- Manage the QA department's resources and budget efficiently, optimizing team performance and cost-effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- 12+ years of experience in quality assurance, with significant experience in automation and leadership roles.
- Extensive experience in developing innovative automation solutions and frameworks.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, emerging technologies (e.g., AI, NLP, Cloud), and industry best practices.
- Proven track record in functional and non-functional testing, including security, reliability, concurrency and performance assessments.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage large teams and work collaboratively with senior stakeholders.
- Experience in data testing, automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Apache JMeter), and scripting languages (e.g., Python, R).Ability to drive process improvements and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working in regulated industries such as finance or healthcare is a plus.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, budgeting, and staffing contracts is desirable.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., ISTQB Certified Tester, Certified Quality Engineer) are preferred.
