The Pulp and Power Department Team Leader reports directly to both the Fiberline and Power and Recovery Superintendents and is responsible for all production related activities on shift for the Pulp and Power Department including safety, environment, and quality issues. They will assist the Fiberline and the Power Recovery Superintendents in prioritizing maintenance needs and operator training in their respective departments including, but not limited to:
Preferred Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in an engineering field or similar discipline. Previous supervisory experience. Basic knowledge of the kraft chemical recovery process and pulping process, including digester operation and the bleaching process. Familiarity with troubleshooting evaporators, concentrators, recovery boilers, lime kilns, recausticizing equipment, continuous digesters, pulp screening process, and bleaching is a plus. A working knowledge of Microsoft Office and similar personal computer programs will benefit the candidate. Individuals with a desire to advance beyond this level of management will be considered.
Perform a range of motion, when required, in various positions. Walking and standing is required in an industrial setting and in the Johnsonburg setting on cement floors. (There are periods of times that standing is required for long periods.) Walking and climbing graded steel stairs/catwalks is required in addition to ascending and descending ladders (e.g., during lockout or operational trouble shooting). Maintaining balance is critical.
Minimum Qualifications: Experience in the Pulp and Paper industry. Must possess exceptional oral and written communication skills and demonstrate superior leadership skills. Must have a willingness to work overtime and off-schedule hours as needed to support the operation as required. A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent education is required.
